About

I am a licensed psychotherapist (LICSW), specializing in Individual and Couples therapy; and a Certified Gottman Therapist, the only one living/practicing in Birmingham. I am also a Bringing Baby Home Educator, and have completed additional training in Emotion Coaching, The Heart of Parenting through the Gottman Institute. I am also Love Lab Approved to be used as part of a comprehensive Relationship Assessment.

With over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist, and another 15 or so providing community-based social services, I have worked with a variety of populations regarding a broad range of issues. Although I currently live and practice in AL, I've lived and worked in several states across the country - KY, IN, CA, NE and GA. I believe this gives me a more global perspective on issues that we all face from time to time, and I know that there is more than one way be happy.

My approach to therapy is based on client need, always with a strengths-based/insight-oriented perspective in an affirming, non-judgmental environment. My clients will tell you that I strive to provide a comfortable, relaxed environment with genuine warmth and humor...and the wisdom achieved through many years of living and learning.
