About

Divorce, an experience known to nearly 40% of Canadians, is often preceded by long stretches of estrangement, bitter quarrels, toxic parental-modelling, and an exhaustive inner struggle on the question of whether to leave or stay in the relationship.

Those who remain in estranged, high stress, or high conflict relationships without effective intervention are likely to suffer from high blood pressure and an earlier and more aggressive onset of heart disease among other maladies.

For couples wanting to break these caustic practices, extinguish cognitive dissonance, and turn towards a life of shared meaning and connection, couples counselling is effective.

Sarah Smith is a CCC and RCC with a masters degree in Counselling Psychology, training in Lifespan Integration Therapy for trauma, and advanced Gottman Method Training who provides marriage and trauma counselling.

Operating out of Odetteā€™s Wellness Centre, in Kelowna, BC, Sarah provides intensive, in-person, 90-minute couples counselling sessions to a select number of couples who have the time for, and commitment to, the journey of reclaiming their relationship.

She sees fewer clients, performs extensive assessments, conducts longer (90-minute) sessions, and selects interventions that address the unique needs of each couple or individual.

To ensure a strong therapeutic connection, Sarah routinely asks for feedback, notes and shares insights had in session, and tracks therapeutic gains through cognitive assessments, which serve to highlight the observable changes that unfold in therapy.

If you are struggling in your relationship (or separation), have the time and commitment for in-person therapy, and are receptive to structured, evidence-based approaches, please consider contacting Sarah for a 20 minute telephone (or in-person) consultation at no cost at (250) 808-9679.
