About

I finished a doctorate in counseling psychology at Columbia University, NYC, in 1980. Since then, I have been working as a licensed psychologist and a licensed professional counselor both in Israel and the US. My experience includes many years of supervision of counselors in Israel, and training counselors to become licensed in the US (Wisconsin). I taught at the Hebrew University in Israel and was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
I have been working in private practice in both countries with individuals, couples and families, mainly addressing relationships and transitions in life. Issues such as dealing with relocation, career changes, and life changes (separation, divorce, loss, parenting and family conflicts).
I am the first certified Gottman therapist in Israel, as well as a consultant and advanced trainer for therapists in this method. I translated most of Gottman assessments and interventions into Hebrew so that Israeli clients and counselors can benefit from using this approach.
My orientation is cognitive behavioral and I was trained in solution focused therapy by Steve De Shazer (founder of the approach). I have specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). An effective method to work with PTSD (trauma, abuse) and with anxiety, and depression.
Another expertise of mine is working with children and adult ADHD/ADD. Help adult ADHD cope with issues of concentration, organization and its effect on relationships.
I have several publications and articles in the areas of professional development of counselors, supervision, coping with terror and recently, on line couple therapy. My approach in therapy is culturally sensitive. I speak several languages and I am bi-lingual in English and Hebrew.
I use mostly video conferencing to help bridge geographical distances. I see clients once a week, face to face upon request.
